TL;DR
Senior Engineer, Invest Tech (Python/AWS): Designing and building capabilities for the ETF platform, including applications for portfolio construction, trading, and analytics with an accent on data engineering and distributed systems. Focus on modernizing platform architectures, optimizing SQL-based data processing, and implementing AI-accelerated engineering workflows.
Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA) - spending at least four full days each week in the office.
Salary: $135,000 - $145,000 per year

What you will do
- Institutionalize daily use of AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, AWS Bedrock) for coding, testing, and prototyping.
- Design and maintain data engineering workflows and platform services supporting the Vision platform.
- Build robust Python-based services, APIs, and microservices for portfolio analytics and optimization.
- Optimize SQL-based data processing (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake), including complex queries and ETL workflows.
- Implement distributed, event-driven architectures using Kafka for scalable platform execution.
- Develop cloud-native applications on AWS utilizing Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, and Aurora.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software or data engineering, preferably within financial services or asset management.
- 3+ years of Python experience focusing on data processing, APIs, or service-based architecture.
- 3+ years of SQL experience (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Snowflake), including performance tuning.
- Fluency in AI-assisted development and the ability to evaluate AI-generated code for security and maintainability.
- Experience with cloud-native development (AWS), containerized environments, and CI/CD practices.
