Senior Data Engineer

Location: Fully remote in the United States, with approximately 10% in-person collaboration; external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global location.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and evolve scalable data platforms and pipelines across AWS and Microsoft technology ecosystems.
• Design data models, warehouse structures, and orchestration patterns for analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and product insights.
• Improve data quality, governance, reliability, observability, performance, and scalability across the data lifecycle.
• Partner with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders to define data strategy and deliver technical solutions.
• Evaluate tools and frameworks that improve the efficiency and reliability of data operations.
• Mentor data engineers and strengthen engineering practices and technical decision-making.

Requirements

• Significant experience designing, building, and scaling cloud-based data platforms; AWS experience is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including ETL/ELT pipeline development and large-scale data-system optimization.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, orchestration, and distributed data processing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Terraform.
• Ability to influence technical direction, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and collaborate across teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to strong engineering standards and practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with SSIS, PowerShell, or SSRS.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience in Agile development environments and with Jira or Confluence.
