What you will do

• Design and operate scalable distributed systems and services powering Figma's collaboration tools.
• Develop and secure internal and edge networks running on AWS.
• Design and deploy an internal service mesh network to support a growing portfolio of services.
• Develop intelligent detection and auto-scaling countermeasures for DDoS threats.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across multiple stack layers to reduce MTTR.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building scalable infrastructure components in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript or Go.
• Experience scaling distributed traffic systems as an individual contributor or Team Lead.
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality products in high-growth environments.
• Ability to communicate cross-functionally with teams handling network and traffic systems.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DDoS attack mechanisms and mitigation solutions on AWS.
• Background in securing network infrastructure.
• Experience with traffic analytics using VPC Flow Logs and Lambda.
• Deep understanding of TCP, HTTP, DNS, and SSL protocols.
• Experience with network proxies like Envoy and Haproxy.
