Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Boulder, Colorado; hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity

What you will do

• Administer and maintain on-premises Linux servers and Windows virtual machines supporting the quantum computing environment.
• Design automated workflows for managing and scaling cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Build and optimize monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics for development and production systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment efficiency.
• Support reliable software deployment and system operation across the infrastructure stack.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud deployment and infrastructure management with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with on-premises hardware, virtualization, and containerization using tools such as Proxmox VE, Docker, and Podman.
• Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions, observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana, and infrastructure tools including Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Kubernetes.
• Experience optimizing on-premises hardware for performance and low latency using tools such as perf, systemd-analyze, iostat, and tuning profiles.

Nice to have

• Experience building and scaling developer operations teams and automating access management and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience managing databases, implementing security best practices, or configuring physical and virtual networks.
• Experience interfacing with cameras, motors, lasers, and other third-party devices.
