What you will do

• Identify and characterize defects impacting yield and performance in advanced silicon process technologies.
• Create and drive defect reduction roadmaps by developing and qualifying process fixes.
• Perform root cause analysis in partnership with Integration, Yield, and failure analysis labs.
• Organize and present defect summaries to Logic Technology Development (LTD) engineering teams.
• Transfer technology to manufacturing via the Copy Exactly Methodology to meet volume requirements.
• Collaborate across LTD process and design teams to maintain high quality standards.

Requirements

• Must be based in or be able to work in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA (Hybrid).
• Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or PhD with 1+ years of experience in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering, Optics, Chemistry, or Computer Science.
• Experience with materials characterization (SEM, TEM), fabrication, synthesis, or metrology.
• Proficiency in statistical or data analysis using MATLAB, Excel, or JMP.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing fundamentals (lithography, etch, polishing) and transistor device physics.

Nice to have

• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
• Expertise in Yield Improvement and Defect Improvement.
• Knowledge of Brightfield, Darkfield, and Voltage Contrast (VC).
• Experience with defect troubleshooting tools like Klarity, Model-Based Problem Solving (MBPS), or Fishbone Analysis.
