Senior Cloud Engineer - US Federal

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; at least 50% of each quarter must be spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $163,800–$245,800 USD for the primary Reston location; $148,200–$264,000 USD for additional U.S. locations. The role may also include a bonus and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Guide cloud adoption strategy and lead technical aspects of application and infrastructure migration to the public cloud.
• Manage and operate secure, scalable, highly available infrastructure services.
• Build and maintain tooling, automation, and workflows for new customer environments.
• Use infrastructure-as-code to improve the maintenance and operation of infrastructure and services.
• Own service health, uptime, patching, maintenance, vulnerability management, and customer-facing SLAs.
• Collaborate with architects and leadership to evolve infrastructure services for business growth.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required because the role supports U.S. Federal Government contracts.
• Applicants must already possess a valid and active TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS or GCP.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems.
• 3+ years of experience with Ruby, Go, or Python.
• 3+ years of delivering infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible.

Nice to have

• Experience building scalable and reliable public-cloud solutions for web-scale applications.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines using Git, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of RESTful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Experience leading cloud transformation initiatives for large-scale enterprises.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, and security principles.
