Quantum Opto-electronics Research Manager (Aerospace): Leading the research and development of advanced quantum optical systems for remote sensing and communications with an accent on light-matter interactions and system architecture. Focus on designing complex active optical systems, developing theoretical models, and managing multi-disciplinary teams to achieve TRL 8.
Location: Onsite in Louisville, Colorado. Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Salary: $139,600 - $246,100

What you will do
- Lead the full life cycle of R&D for advanced quantum optical systems, from architecture development to deployment.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team focused on active optical sensor architecture for civilian and military aerospace applications.
- Execute component and sub-system development through internal and external funding efforts.
- Perform cost accounting and earned-value management leadership for medium-sized programs.
- Conduct laboratory testing, prototype development, and experimental demonstrations of quantum opto-electronic systems.
- Direct business capture activities, including proposal writing and stakeholder briefings.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in aerospace engineering, optical science, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary Technology Lead role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program and cost accounting management for active/passive optical systems.
- Experience with milestone gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and program performance management.
- US Citizenship and willingness to obtain a Top Secret Government Security clearance.
Nice to have
- PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Math.
- Existing TS/SCI security clearance.
- Expertise in opto-mechanical and thermal modeling of lasers, OPOs, and OPAs.
- Proficiency with modeling software such as Matlab/Simulink, Labview, or Mathcad.
- Knowledge of laser-based remote sensing, radiometry, and beam propagation.
