Salary: $170,000 - $215,000

What you will do

  • Architect and design advanced state estimation algorithms for eVTOL aircraft, ensuring safety and computational efficiency.
  • Implement algorithms primarily in Simulink following modeling standards and best practices.
  • Integrate state estimation solutions with INS, GNSS, air data systems, and aviation-grade sensors.
  • Develop and execute V&V strategies, including simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and flight testing.
  • Analyze and interpret simulation and flight data to characterize real-world performance.
  • Collaborate with control laws, hardware, and software teams to solve complex aircraft-level problems.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and verification of state estimation algorithms.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Simulink/MATLAB for algorithm development and simulation.
  • Experience with sensor fusion from INS, GNSS, airspeed sensors, and altimeters.
  • Working level knowledge of ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-331.
  • Must have valid US work authorization as visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with flight testing and test plan development.
  • Previous experience with flight control or state estimation for eVTOLs, helicopters, or fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of control algorithms and aerospace data buses.
  • Experience working with regulation authorities or fly-by-wire systems.
