What you will do

• Lead teams in the design and implementation of flight control algorithms for electric VTOL aircraft.
• Develop and improve high-fidelity vehicle and environment simulation models to verify system requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align GNC requirements with broader system and safety specifications.
• Conduct trade studies to inform aircraft design and system architecture.
• Partner with the Flight Test team to design and execute tests evaluating vehicle capabilities.
• Analyze full-scale and subscale flight data to refine and improve models.

Requirements

• BS in Aerospace, Electrical/Computer Engineering with 10+ years of experience, MS with 8+ years, or PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and both classical and modern control theory.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Must have valid US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with envelope protection and modeling physics, sensors, and actuators.
• Knowledge of fault detection, isolation techniques, and trajectory optimization algorithms.
• Experience flight testing piloted or autonomous aircraft or rotorcraft.
• Piloting experience (aircraft or rotorcraft).
