Category Manager (Poultry)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Salary: $110,500–$176,000 annually, plus eligibility for 401(k), equity grants, and potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own the poultry and backyard chicken category P&L, business strategy, operations, assortment, and customer experience.
• Build vendor partnerships and manage assortment planning, negotiations, promotions, rebates, terms, and joint business planning.
• Lead catalog and vendor operations, including item setup, content, ordering, forecasting, launches, and issue resolution.
• Develop growth strategies using customer insights, market trends, competitive intelligence, and business performance data.
• Analyze assortment, sales trends, inventory, and category gaps to improve product performance and forecasting.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Pricing, Marketing, Customer Service, Merchandising Operations, and Product teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, retail, category management, FMCG, agribusiness, animal science, nutrition, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, animal sciences, agriculture, agribusiness, marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience with vendor relationships, negotiations, assortment planning, and category performance.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, retail math, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SQL experience preferred.
• Experience with poultry, backyard chicken ownership, farming, livestock, or agricultural categories preferred.
