Technology & AI Adoption Specialist (Operations) (AI): Driving the uptake of AI across IRC’s global operations by identifying, testing, and scaling high-value use cases with an accent on translating operational needs into developer-ready briefs and ensuring sustained user adoption. Focus on building an AI demand pipeline, co-designing workflow-embedded solutions, and measuring impact through pilots to scale.

Location: New York, NY HQ USA; remote work available for candidates with the right to work in their location (internals based in IRC operating countries on local employment contracts). Role open to candidates located and with the right to work in United States of America, United Kingdom, or Kenya.

Salary: $88,277–$102,451/yr (US pay range); £49,598–£60,040/yr (UK pay range)

What you will do

  • Establish and manage an AI demand pipeline across departments, including problem definitions, requirements, and expected ROI.
  • Track AI opportunities from intake through pilot, iteration, and scale; monitor outcomes against success criteria (efficiency gains, time saved, adoption).
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases with functional product owners and AI governance stakeholders; map current/future workflows and produce developer-ready artifacts (e.g., user stories, workflows).
  • Co-design, test, and iterate solutions with end users and technical teams, including supporting user acceptance testing and live deployment into operational workflows.
  • Lead adoption within targeted teams by embedding AI into redesigned workflows, acting as the primary post-deployment contact, and driving behavior change without direct authority.
  • Package successful use cases for replication and scale, and create practical learning and communications materials (FAQs, job aids, success stories).

Requirements

  • Right to work in United States of America, United Kingdom, or Kenya (local employment contract based on location).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in change management, digital transformation, business analysis, learning & development, or related roles.
  • Strong familiarity with AI tools and applications, with the ability to translate capabilities/limitations into practical workflow improvements.
  • Proven experience driving AI/technology adoption in complex, matrixed organizations from problem identification through sustained use.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose operational challenges, define problem statements/requirements, and redesign workflows.
  • Fluency in English required.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic.
  • Experience working in international development, humanitarian, or nonprofit contexts.
  • Ability to operate in low-resource, high-complexity environments.
