What you will do

• Modernise existing .NET services by containerising applications for Amazon ECS and removing legacy infrastructure dependencies.
• Design and build resilient distributed systems by improving health checks, fault tolerance, observability, and runtime behaviour.
• Define and evolve .NET migrations using reusable service templates, engineering standards, and best practices (dependency injection, configuration, logging, monitoring, deployment).
• Develop automation and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate cloud migration, including analysing services and generating infrastructure/deployment scaffolding.
• Optimise containerised workloads for performance, resource utilisation, and scalability.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, and lead adoption of cloud-native engineering practices through technical leadership, documentation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Strong experience developing applications with C# and .NET, with solid software engineering principles and modern backend architecture.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including resilience patterns, observability, scalability, and performance optimisation.
• Experience creating reusable engineering patterns, frameworks, or shared libraries that improve consistency and developer experience across teams.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (or equivalent), plus CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native applications using containers and orchestration technologies within AWS and Amazon ECS.
• Hybrid working: work from the office a minimum of 60% of the time over a 12-week period.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and delivery, with judgement to validate outputs.
• First-hand experience applying AI to engineering workflows, automation, and developer experience.
