Area Maintenance Manager II (Pharmacy)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays, with travel as needed.

What you will do

• Develop and lead maintenance technicians responsible for warehouse assets, automated material handling and conveyance systems, pharmacy compounding and laboratory equipment, and critical facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate preventive and reactive maintenance, including rapid response to high-severity downtime affecting fulfillment and pharmacy production.
• Ensure accurate maintenance documentation, equipment readiness, and compliance with pharmacy, safety, and quality standards.
• Audit preventive-maintenance execution and work quality across warehouse and laboratory equipment, then implement reliability and compliance improvements.
• Lead initiatives focused on safety, equipment uptime, mean time to repair, system capacity, and production quality.
• Partner with Operations, Pharmacy, Support functions, pharmacists, laboratory teams, and third-party vendors to align maintenance priorities and specialized work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of maintenance leadership experience.
• Experience leading maintenance teams in e-commerce, automated fulfillment, or regulated and laboratory-based manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with material handling systems, conveyors, and powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to use data and maintenance systems to improve performance metrics and equipment reliability.
• Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• CMRP, CRL, OSHA 10/30, or similar industry certifications.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience maintaining industrial controls, HVAC and facility systems, electrical systems, boilers, chillers, RTUs, AHUs, and ERUs.
• Experience with CMMS/EAM systems for maintenance planning and asset tracking.
