What you will do
- Analyze and resolve automation and control issues to improve equipment reliability and operational performance for conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and print/apply systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC controllers and industrial networks (motor control systems, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution).
- Partner with FC Operations leadership, vendors, and parts suppliers to perform root cause analysis, define solutions, and coordinate implementation.
- Monitor MHE metrics and provide performance analysis with maintenance/operations across fulfillment centers.
- Provide first-level support for facilities technicians/leads during and after business hours, solving locally and remotely and repairing hardware or controls software systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and organizational policies, including OSHA standards and 5-S.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial controls, including PLC programming, I/O, communication networks, and AC/DC single- and three-phase systems.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation software, including Allen-Bradley RS Logix PLC.
- Demonstrated electrical knowledge of 24V AC/DC control circuits and 120V and 277V–480V power/control circuits; ability to wire and operate a 3-phase motor.
- Proficiency using a digital multimeter and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing schematics plus mechanical and architectural drawings.
- Must be available for 24/7 emergency situations.
Nice to have
- Experience with electrical theory, robotics, and controls components for automated equipment.
- Experience with networked VFDs (EtherNet, DeviceNet).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other Autodesk tools to read electrical drawings and schematics.
