Senior UX Designer (Design System): Lead the evolution of a design system to enable faster, more consistent product development across all products and platforms, with an accent on component/pattern standards, engineering partnership, and governance. Focus on building a high-leverage single source of truth, reducing redundant work through standardization, and integrating an AI-first workflow while maintaining system integrity.
Location: Hybrid (Boston, Massachusetts or Dublin office; in-person interviews may be required)
Salary: $135,000 — $169,000 USD (annual base / On-Target Earnings)

What you will do
- Define, maintain, and evolve design system components, patterns, and interaction standards across the full product surface.
- Partner with Engineering on system implementation, architecture decisions, and handoff processes.
- Monitor system usage across products to identify gaps and close them before they become workarounds.
- Standardize common solutions to reduce redundant design and development work.
- Support designers and engineers in adopting the system via documentation, reviews, and direct collaboration.
- Govern contributions (proposal, review, approval) and maintain a prioritized system backlog.
Requirements
- 7+ years of UX/product design experience, including 4+ years focused on design systems.
- Proven expertise with Figma variables and component architecture, including mapping to coded token structures.
- Working knowledge of front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS).
- Experience applying accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) to component design and documentation.
- Strong systems thinking and experience building/scaling design systems in product companies with multiple teams.
- Comfort working closely with Engineering on design tokens, component libraries, and handoff tooling; ability to communicate and influence cross-team alignment.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with design token pipelines and tooling (e.g., Style Dictionary, Theo).
- IAAP/WAAS certification.
- Experience with component library tooling and writing/reviewing component documentation at the code layer.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and how design system changes move through a development workflow.
