Sr. Information Security Engineer (Systems Engineer) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid role with four days in the office in Kansas City, Missouri, or Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $119,000–$154,000 base salary annually, plus potential incentive compensation and equity programs.

What you will do

• Manage, deploy, configure, tune, patch, and upgrade SIEM, SOAR, EDR, secure email gateway, and endpoint and email DLP platforms.
• Develop, monitor, and optimize security solutions across multiple business environments and customer configurations.
• Automate repetitive security operations tasks and integrate diverse technologies to improve analysis and response.
• Assess security risks and controls, recommend improvements, and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Support escalated incident response, including containment, investigation, recovery, security assessments, and audits.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, education, and mentorship while collaborating with legal, regulatory, development, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of senior-level information security experience, or three years in information security plus two to three years of IT experience in systems or network administration.
• Experience with Databahn, NXlog, Google SecOps, Bindplane, and Proofpoint.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security operations.
• Experience administering Linux/Unix and Windows environments, including Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Experience with the Microsoft Security Stack, including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Purview DLP, and Intune.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• Experience with Google SecOps SIEM, the Microsoft Security Stack, or Proofpoint Email Security Services.
• CISSP, CASP, or another relevant security certification.
