TL;DR
Internship - Material Planner (SAP): Managing end-to-end inventory planning for ABB’s Distribution Solutions Division with an accent on inventory policies, replenishment parameters, and purchase order coordination. Focus on maintaining safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, and lead times while improving supplier delivery, quality, and flexibility.

Location: Dalmine, Bergamo, Italy; on-site work

What you will do

  • Manage end-to-end inventory planning from purchase requisition through customer invoicing.
  • Define inventory policies based on segmentation.
  • Calculate and maintain safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies in planning systems and ERP platforms.
  • Coordinate material planning and call-offs to convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with operations buyers and service teams on material availability.
  • Work with buyers to improve supplier delivery, minimum order quantities, quality, lead time, and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Fluent communication in both Italian and English.
  • Proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
