What you will do

• Directly supervise shop craft employees to safely execute terminal or shop operating plans.
• Coordinate labor and equipment to inspect, test, and repair equipment according to the daily plan.
• Prepare and conduct job safety briefings and ensure compliance with BNSF policies, AAR, and FRA regulations.
• Provide technical support to apprentice employees and provide updates to the General Foreman.
• Schedule repairs away from the terminal to ensure equipment is returned to service quickly.
• Provide critical information to assess equipment damage and derailment recovery processes.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.
• First Line Supervisor (FLS) certification.
• Experience supervising and motivating union-represented employees.
• Proficiency in coordinating information from several sources to move cars and locomotives.
• Basic accounting and computer skills, including the ability to analyze computer-generated reports.
• Capable of working in shop or field environments, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven surfaces.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous mechanical department or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge of AAR and FRA equipment repair regulations.
• Familiarity with railroad craft union agreements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
