Construction Manager II (Telecommunications)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; projects are primarily performed throughout Alaska, including remote urban and rural locations. Remote work is eligible with restrictions, and the role requires travel to remote sites within Alaska, including by aircraft.

What you will do

• Lead multiple concurrent construction projects from conceptual development through final construction and closeout.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes of work, bills of materials, and documentation.
• Coordinate internal resources, contractors, consultants, agencies, property owners, utilities, and customers.
• Procure materials and equipment and manage the delivery of power and backhaul.
• Conduct bid walks, preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, site inspections, punch walks, and construction closeout activities.
• Evaluate work in progress, manage project risks and contracts, control costs, and ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, business, telecommunications, or a related field.
• At least four years of professional construction management, project management, and/or engineering experience, including project budgets and schedules.
• Ability to work independently on moderately complex projects and make routine operational decisions.
• Knowledge of codes and regulations for the design, construction, and maintenance of wireless communications facilities.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, satisfactory driving record, and successful completion of defensive driving training.
• Ability to travel to remote Alaskan locations, drive in remote communities, operate ATV-style vehicles when necessary, and occasionally move loads of up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Certified Construction Manager or Project Management Professional certification.
• Telecommunications experience.
• Logistics, procurement, or other telecommunications certifications.
