Bridge Engineer

Location: Toledo, Ohio, United States; office-based work with occasional field work

Salary: $90,000 starting salary annually; final compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and licensing status.

What you will do

• Perform bridge design calculations and structural analysis.
• Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Participate in design discussions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work with senior engineers and project managers on transportation projects.
• Support project delivery for ODOT, local agencies, and national clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of bridge or transportation engineering experience.
• Ohio PE license or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work in the office and occasionally in the field.
