G&A Compensation Partner (HR Operations): Designing and executing compensation strategies for G&A organizations within a leading AI research company with an accent on market benchmarking, budget modeling, and equity-based programs. Focus on building scalable pay frameworks, providing strategic counsel to executives, and managing end-to-end compensation cycles in a high-growth environment.

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY). Must be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time

Salary: $255,000 - $310,000 USD

What you will do

  • Serve as a strategic compensation partner for G&A functions, including Finance, People, and Policy.
  • Own end-to-end compensation cycle execution, encompassing market benchmarking, budget modeling, and executive rollups.
  • Support the overall compensation framework, focusing on cash and equity-based programs for high-demand talent.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on pay decisions, job evaluations, and policy interpretation.
  • Create data-driven narratives and presentations to provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop scalable processes to ensure consistent, high-quality compensation decision-making.

Requirements

  • Expertise in compensation program design and use of benchmarking tools like Radford, Mercer, or Levels.fyi.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Proven track record of managing compensation cycles and budget modeling.
  • Strong written communication skills for translating complex concepts to non-specialists.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco or New York City.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation, spanning both program design and business partnership.
  • Experience in high-growth or rapidly scaling technology companies.
  • Familiarity with equity compensation structures such as RSUs and option grants.
  • Comfort presenting analysis and recommendations to senior executive audiences.
