Buyer (Defense)

Salary: $78,065 – $117,099

What you will do

• Execute purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services based on production requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable sourcing.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve optimal value.
• Research and identify new suppliers to strengthen the supply chain and support growth.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with U.S. Government and defense regulations, including FAR/DFARS and CPSR.
• Partner with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement with project needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in strategic purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Infor Visual preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Walpole, MA.

Nice to have

• Experience in a defense or government contracting environment.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and CPSR compliance requirements.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI.
• Knowledge of commodities and services relevant to the marine and defense industries.
