Subcontracts Manager

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite. U.S. citizenship is required, along with a current U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year in base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the full subcontract lifecycle, from requirements definition and RFP development through source selection, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout.
• Draft and negotiate subcontract terms, pricing, deliverables, schedules, and required FAR/DFARS documentation.
• Perform cost and price analysis, document source-selection rationale, and prepare consent-to-subcontract and advance-notification packages.
• Maintain a CPSR-compliant purchasing system and complete, audit-ready subcontract files under FAR Part 44.
• Lead supplier onboarding, qualification, risk assessment, scorecards, audits, corrective actions, and remediation.
• Coordinate supplier cybersecurity, quality, export-control, insurance, and regulatory reviews with Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality, and Program Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of subcontract administration or management experience in a federal contracting environment; alternatively, a master’s degree and 6+ years, or 12+ years of directly related experience without a degree.
• Hands-on experience across the full subcontract lifecycle, including FAR/DFARS flowdowns and cost or price analysis.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 44, Contractor Purchasing System Reviews, consent-to-subcontract requirements, and supplier compliance.
• Strong understanding of supplier risk management, governance, communication, and stakeholder management.
• U.S. citizenship and a current or obtainable U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or national-security environments.
• Experience managing FFP, T&M, and cost-reimbursement subcontracts.
• Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, NIST 800-171, CMMC, and AS9100 or other regulated quality systems.
• NCMA certification such as CFCM or CPCM, CPSM, or CPSR and purchasing-system experience.
• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
