Senior DevOps Engineer, Alpaca Engineer (US Federal)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; hybrid schedule with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or field. The role supports U.S. Federal Government contracts and requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Annual base salary: $163,800–$245,800 for the primary location; $148,200–$264,000 for additional U.S. locations. The role may also include bonus compensation and annual stock grants.

What you will do

• Develop, build, deploy, and support security-specific solutions and infrastructure that protect customer data and hirify.global infrastructure.
• Build and operate enterprise-grade security tools and services for Data Security & Privacy and Identity and Access Management products.
• Maintain critical production systems in a rapidly moving microservices environment with resilience and scalability requirements.
• Automate infrastructure and deployments across AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Coordinate with engineering teams locally and across time zones throughout the software lifecycle.
• Provide regular after-hours production support during critical service outages.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software development or DevOps experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, or related internet protocols.
• At least 3 years of experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Java.
• Experience with databases, cryptographic systems, PKI, HSMs, orchestration, deployment, and CI tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, or Artifactory.
• Strong shell scripting, software architecture, algorithm design, source control, and full-cycle software engineering experience.
