What you will do

• Design and build EGSE for spacecraft avionics, including COTS instrument selection and custom test boxes/panels.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, embedded test code in C (VxWorks), and LabVIEW UIs for instrument control and telemetry.
• Interface with embedded single board computers (SBCs) and custom analog/digital I/O for Command & Data Handling.
• Author formal documentation including Environmental Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), and configuration-controlled schematics.
• Execute functional and environmental test campaigns, troubleshoot anomalies, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, manufacturing test, and program management to meet technical and schedule goals.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in aerospace/defense test engineering with full EGSE lifecycle ownership.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, C for embedded systems, and LabVIEW for production-grade UIs.
• Practical experience selecting and integrating COTS instruments and designing custom test fixtures and cable assemblies.
• Ability to write clear ATPs/I&T plans and maintain accurate schematics and parts lists.
• Strong debugging skills across analog/digital interfaces and ability to interpret telemetry.
• Must be a U.S. person to handle export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with VxWorks on embedded SBCs or pytest.
• Experience with cPCI SBCs, C&DH architectures, or EPS backplanes.
• VHDL/FPGA interface testing and cable/harness design knowledge (EMI/EMC).
• Experience with Intercept Mozaix for schematic and BOM control.
• Environmental test support (thermal-vac, vibe, EMI/EMC).
