Service Technician (Solar)

TL;DR

Service Technician (Solar): Maintaining utility and commercial PV plants, inverters, and site equipment with an accent on troubleshooting, repairs, and electrical safety. Location: Onsite-only in Needville, TX. Candidates must reside within one hour of the site.

Salary: $28.00 – $31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair utility and commercial PV plants, inverters, and associated site equipment.
• Work with high voltage DC electricity, three-phase AC power, and SCADA or third-party monitoring systems.
• Update and manage relevant software and firmware for inverter and site equipment.
• Ensure all site operations adhere to electrical and safety codes, including NEC, NFPA 70E, and NESC.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure high satisfaction while optimizing service costs.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
• Knowledge of PV solar/alternative energy markets and the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Ability to work from heights, on ladders, or use lift equipment.
• Daily onsite presence and on-call availability required.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the solar energy industry or O&M field experience.
• Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent Apprentice/Journeyman training.
• Knowledge of German or Spanish languages.
