TL;DR

Water Resources Engineer (Watersheds & Stormwater): Leading the planning, modeling, and design of stormwater improvements, flood mitigation, and sustainable watershed measures with an accent on regulatory compliance and project management. Focus on driving business development, mentoring junior staff, and leveraging innovative technologies to solve complex water infrastructure challenges.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Los Angeles, Irvine, San Marcos, or Murrieta, CA. This is a hybrid role.

Salary: $125,879 - $210,220

What you will do

  • Lead the execution of water resources projects including stormwater planning, modeling, and design.
  • Design green infrastructure, flood mitigation systems, and erosion control measures.
  • Manage regulatory compliance and permitting efforts for USACE and FEMA.
  • Drive business development by building client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Act as Project Manager and provide technical mentorship to junior professionals.
  • Identify, recruit, and supervise early-career engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or ArcGIS.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment in California.

Nice to have

  • 11+ years of water resources planning and design experience.
  • Experience with EPA/XP-SWMM, InfoWorks, EFDC, or CFD.
  • Familiarity with Asset Management/CMMS systems like Cityworks or Lucity.
