Energy Mentor (Energy Efficiency)

TL;DR

Energy Mentor (Energy Efficiency): Promoting and implementing energy savings programs for multilingual communities in the GTHA region with an accent on community outreach and educational workshops. Focus on reducing energy usage, improving home safety, and facilitating access to climate and retrofit programs.

Location: Hybrid (Toronto, Ontario / GTHA). Must be based in the GTHA region and have own transportation.

What you will do

• Conduct online and in-person workshops with community groups.
• Promote the Empower Me program within target multilingual communities.
• Plan and attend community events as a representative of the program.
• Maintain accurate records through data entry and record keeping.
• Report on relevant experiences and the impact of mentoring activities.

Requirements

• Fluency in at least one of the following: Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Ukrainian, Russian, or another language common to GTHA communities.
• Excellent English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Strong connections to community groups and associations in the GTHA.
• Comfortable with public speaking and delivering presentations.
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Email.
• Valid driver's license and own transportation.

Nice to have

• Experience in outreach, networking, or sales.
• Volunteer experience with community-level groups.
• Experience as a workshop facilitator, teacher, or ESL/LINC instructor.
• Familiarity with energy, sustainability, and conservation.
