Director, Cost Accounting (Aerospace)

Salary: $220,000 – $270,000

What you will do

• Take ownership of the company's cost accounting apparatus and drive variance reporting processes.
• Manage semi-annual cost rate-setting across multiple sites in compliance with GAAP and CAS.
• Act as the subject matter expert on costing methodologies for a complex manufacturing environment.
• Partner with leadership to implement a SOX 404(b)-compliant control framework for inventory and costing.
• Implement and enhance software packages to improve cost reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with operational finance and operations stakeholders to balance business needs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive cost or managerial accounting experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR authorization.
• Extensive experience with both high-volume and high-dollar manufacturing environments.
• Deep understanding of government CAS requirements and commercial contract accounting.
• Proven ability to lead a cost function and build high-performing teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL or Python.
• Experience working with product management to improve internal accounting software tools.
• Background in satellite, CPG, semiconductor, or maritime manufacturing.
