What you will do

• Manage underwriting for new and renewal business within assigned blocks using rating manuals and clinical expertise.
• Collaborate with Sales and Clinical teams to implement pricing actions that meet financial targets.
• Train and coach lower-level staff to expand consultative best practices within the department.
• Enhance Underwriting Guidelines, processes, and tools based on client and market knowledge.
• Monitor overall block performance and develop strategies to improve case-level and block results.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to support sales negotiations for renewals and new business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Administration, or Computer and Information Science (or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree).
• 10-15 years of experience in Underwriting.
• 10-15 years of experience in the Insurance Industry.
• Strong skills in risk management, analytical thinking, and conflict management.
• Must be based in or able to work in Pennsylvania.

• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification.
• Health Insurance Associate (HIA) certification.
• Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP) certification.
• Membership or certification from the Society of Actuaries.
