What you will do

• Support the Head of Policy in developing regulatory and legislative strategy for AI data center policy, including siting, energy procurement, and governance.
• Track, analyze, and forecast federal and state policy developments affecting AI infrastructure, with primary focus on Texas and expanding coverage as the footprint grows.
• Research, draft, and directly engage with federal agencies, Congress, and regulators to develop Galaxy positions on AI data centers and AI governance.
• Build relationships with policymakers, regulators, coalitions, and stakeholders (state legislators, governors’ offices, public utility commissions, economic development agencies).
• Monitor permitting processes and local utility and political/regulatory developments in target markets; flag risks and opportunities for internal teams.
• Draft policy briefings, comment letters, testimony, and advocacy materials; represent Galaxy in policy forums and trade associations as directed.

Requirements

• 4+ years of policy experience with significant exposure to energy, technology, or infrastructure policy at the federal or state level.
• Experience in Congress, a federal/state regulatory agency, or a policy-focused role at a data center or energy company (strongly preferred).
• Deep familiarity with AI policy debates, including AI governance frameworks and AI data center infrastructure and energy permitting.
• Proven ability to build policy functions or lead major policy initiatives with limited infrastructure; strong self-starter who works well in ambiguity.
• Existing relationships with relevant policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders in AI and technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to distill complex technical and policy topics for senior executives and government audiences.
