Global Public Policy Manager (AI)

Location: Remote across the United States, Canada, and Europe

Salary: United States base salary of $190,000–$240,000 for California, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; $150,000–$190,000 for other US states; Canada base salary of CA$215,000–CA$270,000. Equity is offered.

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze developments in AI infrastructure, data centers, energy, semiconductors, export controls, and national AI strategies.
• Develop policy positions on sovereign AI, compute access, digital sovereignty, and AI competitiveness.
• Support engagement with governments developing AI infrastructure investment programs and national AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with commercial, product, and corporate development teams on public-private partnership opportunities.
• Represent Cohere in policy discussions involving AI infrastructure, energy requirements, and technology competitiveness.
• Produce policy analysis and thought leadership on AI infrastructure and sovereign AI trends.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in public policy, technology policy, trade policy, energy policy, national security policy, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of geopolitical technology issues, AI infrastructure, export controls, or digital sovereignty.
• Ability to assess emerging policy developments and identify strategic business implications.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, energy policy, telecommunications, or national competitiveness issues.
• Familiarity with government AI investment programs and international technology policy.
