Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Salford, Glasgow, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or London, United Kingdom

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Build and improve large-scale machine learning systems that personalise content recommendations for hirify.global audiences.
• Develop and deploy information retrieval and recommender systems used across hirify.global products.
• Prototype, experiment with, and implement technical approaches for complex ML solutions at scale.
• Apply machine learning algorithms to solve user and business problems robustly and scalably.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver ML systems in production.
• Share knowledge and contribute to data science and AI practices across the hirify.global.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in data science and machine learning projects.
• Experience developing and deploying information retrieval systems, ideally recommender systems.
• Strong Python coding skills and knowledge of code management and deployment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team, prioritise work, and follow a structured approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with model lifecycle management and MLOps, including deployment, versioning, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud services, ideally AWS.
• Experience with testing, code management, and deployment best practices.
• Experience mentoring or supervising team members.
• Track record of delivering value in production.
