What you will do

• Deliver expert-level remote DBA services including monitoring, performance tuning, and architecture design.
• Automate routine DBA tasks and build internal tools to enhance platform capabilities.
• Manage and support SkySQL customers across various cloud environments.
• Perform health checks, backups, and recovery operations to ensure system durability.
• Participate in on-call rotations to guarantee customer SLAs.
• Contribute to the community through technical blogging and social media.

Requirements

• Must be based in Bulgaria.
• Strong experience with hirify.global/MySQL and related ecosystem tools.
• Proficiency in SQL query writing, database design, and architecture.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts (e.g., Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an autonomous work style.

Nice to have

• Experience in a 24/7 support environment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
• Sysadmin experience with Linux or Windows.
• Knowledge of other database systems like Postgres, MongoDB, or Oracle.
