What you will do
- Plan and design manufacturing processes for optical subcomponents and module assembly/test areas.
- Specify materials, equipment, and tools to meet manufacturing goals and product specifications.
- Analyze workflows and equipment layout to maximize efficiency and workforce utilization.
- Monitor and improve yield and performance; troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and establish process controls.
- Write work instructions and train direct labor on manufacturing processes.
- Support failure analysis, SPC/continuous improvement programs, and transfer of new products from R&D to manufacturing.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or Laser Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- At least 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of optics and experience with OCT or swept-source lasers, MEMS devices, or optoelectronic device processing (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving using design of experiments, characterization, and thorough data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with electro-optical testing equipment (preferred): optical spectrum analyzers (OSAs), oscilloscopes, power meters.
- Ability to self-direct with minimal supervision and communicate effectively across engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
