Area Manager (Manufacturing): Leading high-precision optical production processes including bonding, etching, and lithography with an accent on operational effectiveness and safety. Focus on driving continuous improvement, managing a 24/7 production environment, and leading a layered organization of over 30 employees.
Location: Onsite in Wilton, CT, US. Must be work authorized in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do
- Lead manufacturing operations in the BCELL area, covering bonding, contacting, etching, lithography, and laser processing.
- Manage a 24/7 production environment to meet KPIs for Safety, Quality, First Pass Yield, and On-Time Delivery.
- Lead and coach a layered organization of shift managers, team leads, and technicians, managing over 30 employees.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (L3/L4 level) to eliminate waste and improve flow.
- Translate sector strategy into 2–3 year operational plans and define department KPIs.
- Collaborate with Production Engineering and sister facilities in Germany to align on operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (10–15 years experience) or Master’s Degree (5–10 years experience) in manufacturing operations.
- Proven experience leading other leaders in a complex, multi-shift production environment.
- Strong background in Lean/Continuous Improvement with demonstrated results.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and experience in ISO-certified environments.
- Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations.

- Experience in optics manufacturing, coating, or metrology.
