Lead Software Engineer (Azure)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid

Salary: 270,000–406,000 PLN per year, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Define architecture strategies and non-functional designs aligned with SLO, SLA, cost, security, and regulatory goals.
• Lead multi-team Azure delivery across AKS, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and SQL services.
• Implement policy-as-code, canary and blue-green deployments, environment parity, feature flags, and automated rollback.
• Own reliability and observability through tracing, metrics, logging, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Lead root cause analysis and post-incident improvements while establishing Infrastructure as Code and platform paved roads.
• Guide engineers through design reviews, support development plans, influence stakeholders, and resolve cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building distributed SaaS systems with .NET/C# or similar technologies, including 3+ years leading initiatives or teams.
• Deep Azure expertise, including AKS, Service Bus/Event Hubs, Cosmos DB or SQL, and multi-region patterns.
• Experience owning SLO/SLA outcomes, leading on-call operations, and eliminating repeat incidents through root cause analysis.
• Strong observability experience at scale, including OpenTelemetry tracing, metrics, logging, dashboards, and alert design.
• Experience with CI/CD, canary or blue-green deployments, feature flags, and automated rollback.
• Clear English communication skills and availability for hybrid work in Kraków, Poland. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.

Nice to have

• FinOps, cost modeling, right-sizing, autoscaling, and capacity planning experience.
• Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes operations, and container security expertise.
• Platform enablement experience with internal SDKs, templates, and golden paths.
• Service mesh, Kafka or Azure Event Hubs, ingestion/ETL pipeline, and multi-tenant scaling experience.
