Salary: $265,000 - $335,000 USD

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, specializing in AI safety, research, and enterprise customer contracts.
• Partner with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Develop and maintain commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates and playbooks.
• Collaborate with Policy, Safeguards, and Research teams on novel AI governance initiatives.
• Identify and escalate legal risks while maintaining business momentum.

Requirements

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Proven ability to provide clear, practical legal guidance to non-lawyers on complex matters.
• Must be based in New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle to comply with the hybrid office policy.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS agreements or technology transactions.
• Background in biotech, clinical research, or life sciences transactions.
• Familiarity with grant-making arrangements and compliance considerations.
