What you will do

• Own the most complex modeling and architecture, including ontology objects and dimensional/semantic models (LookML).
• Translate ambiguous business needs from product and business leaders into durable technical plans.
• Align domain models with core entities to ensure consistency and interoperability across the data mesh.
• Define modeling patterns, naming conventions, and reference implementations for the analytics engineering discipline.
• Partner with domain data engineers to shape data contracts and pipelines.
• Integrate AI tools like Claude and Databricks Genie into the analytics engineering workflow.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or data modeling.
• Deep expertise in semantic and dimensional modeling.
• Hands-on experience with ontology or object-based semantic layers (e.g., Palantir Foundry).
• Fluency in Looker/LookML for BI consumption.
• Experience with modern lakehouse platforms, specifically Databricks.
• Must be legally authorized to live and work full-time in the specified US states or Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with transformation frameworks such as SQLMesh or dbt.
• Experience with Foundry Pipeline Builder/Functions or performance tuning at scale.
