R&D Engineer Hardware (Analog Mixed-Signal)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite at Alton Parkway Building 2

Annual base salary: USD 91,100–146,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Design and validate wireline high-speed analog mixed-signal circuitry for data center connectivity applications.
• Research novel circuit techniques that maximize speed and performance while minimizing power and area.
• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic components and integrated circuitry for hardware systems.
• Characterize and debug analog designs for manufacturability, including analysis, experimental testing, and evaluation of results.
• Create circuit models defining package and PCB requirements and develop circuit test plans.
• Contribute to the system-level architectural design of broadband communication SoCs and collaborate with technical and management stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with analog circuit design, CMOS device operating regions and characteristics, and common CMOS analog topologies operating at 1 GHz and above.
• Knowledge of analog design trade-offs involving noise, distortion, frequency response, mismatch, bandwidth, stability, and settling limitations.
• Experience with signal processing in analog filters, ADCs, DACs, and feedback-controlled loops.
• Proficiency with simulation tools, custom layout tools, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Work is based at the Irvine, California location.

• Experience with fiber optic communication systems, Gigabit Ethernet, enterprise storage, or wireless network routers.
