Systems Programmer (zLinux)

Location: Mexico Puerta Polanco, Mexico

What you will do

• Administer, configure, and optimize zLinux and zVM systems on mainframe platforms.
• Maintain system availability, patch compliance, and proactive risk mitigation.
• Integrate management tools and develop Linux shell scripts for automation.
• Drive monitoring, automation, performance tuning, and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain business continuity and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in mainframe or zLinux system administration and support, including 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Deep expertise in zLinux and zVM system management, patching, and performance optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in Linux shell scripting and management tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced English required for global collaboration and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Certifications in Linux, mainframe, or ITIL.
• Experience leading automation and modernization projects.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
