IBM Power Systems Engineer (IBM Power Systems): Administering, supporting, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise IBM Power Systems environments with an accent on HMC, VIOS, LPARs, virtualization, SAN connectivity, and infrastructure security. Focus on troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, automating administration with Bash or Korn Shell, supporting disaster recovery and mobility technologies, and participating in 24x7 incident response.

What you will do
- Administer, support, monitor, and optimize IBM Power Systems environments, including HMC, VIOS, LPARs, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade VIOS, HMC environments, LPARs, firmware, virtual storage, and networking components.
- Support SAN integration, zoning, masking, NPIV, MPIO, storage connectivity, Live Partition Mobility, and Active Memory Sharing.
- Analyze performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend improvements.
- Develop technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, and Bash or Korn Shell automation scripts.
- Participate in customer escalations, major incident resolution, and a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting IBM Power Systems environments, including Power8, Power9, and Power10.
- Hands-on experience with HMC administration, LPAR management, VIOS administration, virtualization technologies, and Power infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience with SAN technologies, NPIV, MPIO, zoning, storage integration, virtual networking, and disaster recovery environments.
- Experience working in ITIL-based support environments, with strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support.
Nice to have
- IBM Power Systems certifications.
- Infrastructure automation experience with Bash or Korn Shell.
- Familiarity with PowerVC and REST APIs.
- Firmware lifecycle management and vendor support experience.
- Security and compliance experience with SOC, PCI-DSS, SOX, or ISO 27001.
