Recruiter, Mergers & Acquisitions (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 25%+ in-office)

Salary: $240,000 - $295,000 USD

What you will do

• Partner with Corporate Development and Technical Leadership to evaluate M&A targets and assess talent quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with founders, technical leaders, and key engineers at target companies.
• Lead technical talent assessments for potential acquisitions to ensure alignment with company standards.
• Own the recruiting process and collaborate on onboarding experiences for acquired technical talent.
• Structure competitive offers in partnership with People, Legal, and Corp Dev teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion during sensitive M&A hiring conversations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of technical recruiting experience, including at least 3 years in M&A, corporate development, or acquihire.
• Proven track record of hiring engineers, research scientists, and technical leaders in competitive markets.
• Strong judgment in assessing technical team quality and cultural fit.
• Ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams including Legal, People, and technical leadership.
• Clear, direct communication style with a bias toward action.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting at a high-growth AI or machine learning company.
• Experience with founder recruiting or executive search in technical domains.
