Head of Talent (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Annual base pay: $165,000–$250,000 USD, with potential discretionary bonus and options.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end talent acquisition strategy and translate growth plans into hiring roadmaps.
• Build, lead, and mentor the talent acquisition team across recruiting, sourcing, and coordination.
• Advise the CEO and executive team on workforce planning, org design, leveling, and succession planning.
• Personally lead VP-level and other critical searches from sourcing through closing.
• Build employer-brand and candidate-experience programs for technical and leadership hiring.
• Develop scalable recruiting infrastructure, metrics, sourcing systems, interview processes, and AI-powered workflow automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of talent acquisition or recruiting experience, including 4+ years leading and scaling a recruiting team.
• Demonstrated success recruiting engineering, AI/ML, or product talent at scale.
• Experience partnering strategically with founders and C-suite executives.
• Experience building or significantly scaling recruiting processes, tooling, and team structures.
• Data-driven recruiting approach with experience using metrics and AI-powered recruiting tools.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting frontier AI or LLM-focused teams.
• Experience in media, content, news-tech, or consumer internet.
• Experience with cross-border or U.S.–China talent pipelines.
• Mandarin/English bilingual proficiency.
