What you will do

• Hire, coach, and develop a team of Applied AI Engineers focused on strategic life sciences partners.
• Own the technical success of deployments from initial scoping through production.
• Review and contribute to prototypes, MCP integrations, and agentic workflows.
• Build deterministic tools and data infrastructure to make biological data reliably accessible to AI agents.
• Translate field learnings into improvements for Anthropic's models and products.
• Collaborate with safety teams to ensure responsible deployment in sensitive, dual-use domains.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on engineering background with experience in production code.
• Experience leading or mentoring software/ML engineers in customer-facing or solutions settings.
• Background in pharma, biotech, computational biology, bioinformatics, or clinical/regulatory affairs.
• Proven ability to deliver technical work directly with external partners and communicate with executives.
• Experience building on top of large language models or agent systems.
• Must be able to work from our San Francisco or New York offices at least 25% of the time.

• Experience deploying LLM or agent systems in regulated or enterprise environments.
