What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate backend systems for agent-driven care orchestration, including service orchestration and inference pipelines.
• Ship and maintain production-grade AI systems to automate complex clinical and administrative workflows with strict reliability and latency requirements.
• Contribute to the architectural design of the AI platform, emphasizing modularity and clean integration with EMRs and data systems.
• Ensure high performance and fault tolerance across backend services and AI inference pipelines through robust system design and monitoring.
• Implement and uphold best practices for CI/CD, testing, and observability of backend and AI systems in production.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with data scientists and clinical experts to translate high-impact problems into scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems in high-availability environments.
• Recent experience with AI-powered services and automation workflows.
• Strong proficiency in building and maintaining large-scale Python codebases.
• Deep understanding of concurrency, scalability, reliability, and distributed systems patterns.
• Experience with async/event-driven architectures and high-scale APIs (REST and/or gRPC).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and production deployments.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic workflows, including multi-agent systems and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs and proficiency in prompt engineering and evaluation.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience operating in fast-moving, high-ambiguity startup environments.
