Compiler Engineer (C++)

Location: Must be based in the US (Hillsboro, OR or Folsom, CA). This role follows a hybrid work model.

Salary: $149,600–$211,200 USD

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain compiler backend optimizers and code generation components.
• Develop and refine transformation techniques to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with hardware architects to define optimizations for next-generation hirify.global hardware.
• Execute comprehensive testing and validation of compiler features across various workloads.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks using profiling tools and benchmarking scenarios.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in compiler backend design and implementation.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with compiler frameworks such as LLVM or GCC.
• Ability to characterize performance using micro- and macro-benchmarks.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
• Contributions to open-source compiler projects.
• Knowledge of x86 Instruction Set Architecture and advanced CPU features (AVX, AMX).
• Understanding of Operating System fundamentals and CPU architecture.
