Software Development Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $136,300–$217,700 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington, DC. In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia, the range is $129,500–$206,900 annually. Actual compensation varies by experience, performance, and location.

What you will do

• Lead software projects from delivery through ongoing support.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new features.
• Build and maintain databases, APIs, and infrastructure for the mortgage task platform.
• Review peer code and establish engineering standards for design, testing, quality, and maintainability.
• Facilitate engineering discussions and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute as a technical leader beyond the immediate team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience with ES6, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Experience with Python, Node.js, and Go for APIs and services.
• Experience with relational and non-relational database persistence strategies.
• Strong skills in designing, delivering, debugging, and maintaining frontend and backend systems.
• Several years of technical leadership experience with impact beyond the immediate team.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling relational databases such as Aurora Postgres.
• Experience building internal platforms at scale.
• Experience with GraphQL or REST API design.
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience in mortgage or regulated fintech.
