Engineering Manager (Email): Leading the team responsible for building and maintaining core infrastructure that delivers billions of personalized emails monthly with an accent on high-scale parallelized platforms and reporting data. Focus on guiding architectural decisions, scaling channel volume, and coaching a high-performing engineering team.

Location: Must be based in Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid role)

Salary: CA$191,459 - CA$380,400/year (including OTE)

What you will do

  • Lead and mentor the Email engineering team to build and maintain high-scale delivery infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define vision, goals, and feature roadmaps.
  • Guide key architectural decisions for highly parallelized systems and REST APIs.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineers to foster a high-performing culture.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges and contribute to code in high-leverage scenarios.
  • Manage team processes to ensure efficient delivery and system reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record.
  • 2+ years of experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Ability to thrive with autonomy while maintaining deep technical involvement.
  • Strong communication skills for making hard decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Experience building foundational systems at scale.

Nice to have

  • Professional experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, JavaScript, or React.
