Engineering Manager, Email

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid

Salary: CA$191,459–CA$338,434/year at the start of employment; expected OTE of CA$215,200–CA$380,400/year, including performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the Email engineering team responsible for infrastructure delivering billions of personalized emails each month.
• Build and scale email personalization, delivery, subscription-management APIs, preference pages, and customer-domain dashboards.
• Partner with product, design, and engineers to develop features based on customer feedback.
• Recruit, coach, and develop engineers while shaping the team’s vision, goals, and processes.
• Guide architectural decisions and contribute code in high-leverage situations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of success.
• 2+ years leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience building foundational systems at scale and leading software projects with significant organizational impact.
• Ability to work autonomously, understand technical details, communicate effectively, and make difficult tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, JavaScript, or React.
