Staff Software Engineer (Web3)

Location: Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay: CAD 200,000–235,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and execution for Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet.
• Design, build, and operate core services for large-scale Web3 financial platforms.
• Write production code, lead complex implementations, and establish high engineering-quality standards.
• Improve developer practices and lead adoption of AI tooling.
• Drive reliability, correctness, observability, and security across the platform.
• Mentor engineers, lead design and architecture discussions, and align platform direction across organizations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Backend development expertise with Go, Python, or Java and deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures.
• 3+ years leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams or complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience simplifying complex problems, making sound tradeoffs, and aligning diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated mentoring experience and a track record of delivering high-impact, end-to-end outcomes.
